Diagnostic Imaging Technologist (Radiologic Technologist/Sonographer)

Job Overview
Seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist/Sonographer capable of performing diagnostic imaging across multiple modalities including radiography, sonography, mammography, MRI, and CT. The role requires professional judgment, adherence to radiation safety principles, and the ability to work with patients of all ages—from newborns to geriatric adults.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform radiographic and sonographic examinations of all body parts for diagnostic interpretation.
- Maintain patient records and departmental quality assurance programs.
- Transfer patients to and from radiology.
- Rotate shifts and be available for on-call duties with the ability to report within 20 minutes.
- Perform duties across multiple imaging modalities (Ultrasound, MRI, CT, Mammography) and maintain competency in ancillary modalities.
- Assist with invasive procedures and participate in policy and procedure development.
- Support mammography services including breast needle localization, specimen radiography, quality control, screening, diagnostic exams, and stereotactic breast biopsy.
- Pursue continuing education and maintain required certifications, including mammography CEUs.
- Care for imaging equipment and maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
- Perform venipuncture and follow magnet safety protocols in MRI.
- Assist with supply inventory and ordering.
- Serve as a lead technologist when required, including scheduling, staff support, and quality control of imaging data.

- Adolescent/Teenager (13 to 17 years)
- Young Adult (18 to 34 years)
- Middle Adult (35 to 50 years)
- Mature Adult (51 to 69 years)
- Geriatric Adult (70+ years)
Required Certifications and Licenses
- Current ARRT certification in Radiography OR
- Current ARDMS certification in one category (Abdomen or OB/GYN)
- BLS certification required within 45 days of start
- Clinical competency to be demonstrated within 3 months of hire and every three years thereafter
Experience and Skills
- Ability to perform all diagnostic exams related to assigned modality.
- Knowledge of radiation protection and safety principles.
- Competency in multiple imaging modalities preferred (Tech I: ARRT or ARDMS in one modality; Tech II: ARRT or ARDMS certified in two modalities).
- Ability to work well under stress and in diverse cultural and religious environments.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new imaging technologies and procedures.
Additional Requirements
- Must provide 2 fingerprint cards upon acceptance of position.
- Must live at least 50 miles away from the facility to be eligible for this traveler position.
- No housing or travel accommodations provided.
- Must be willing to take call and respond promptly.
Certifications Preferred or Helpful
- ACLS, BLS/BCLS, PALS, NRP
