Job Opportunity: Acute Dialysis Nurse

Location: Minden, Louisiana
Contract Length: 10 weeks

Job Details

Specialty: Acute Dialysis
Work Schedule:
- 36-40 hours per week, typically 4-5 days
- May work up to 40 hours/week
- Call as needed
Patient to Staff Ratio: 2:1
Equipment: Fresenius T and K dialysis machines
Float Requirement: Must float between Minden Medical and Cornerstone Bossier facilities
Additional Float: Acute RN must also float to Chronic dialysis units

Requirements

Certifications: BLS required
Scheduling: Travelers must be fully available for client scheduling as-needed; no scheduling requests or blocked schedules accommodated
Start Date: ASAP

Pros

Staff is very welcoming and friendly, patient ratios are very manageable, patient community is very appreciative of you being there to care for them, staff believes in teamwork, low stress as there aren’t too many advanced services offered.

Cons

The schedule isn’t very flexible, the shifts can be very long as there isn’t much happening and anything serious gets sent out to a larger hospital, there can be a lot of worker pulled on to the RN because there are a lot of LPN’s on staff.
