Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Home Health nursing experience
• Active California RN License
• BLS Certification required
• Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

Job Details

• Patient load based on productivity, approximately 5 visits per day
• Admissions typically count as two patients
• EMR system: Netsmart (formerly Allscripts)
• No charge nurse or nurse aides on the team
• Weekend work: Every 3rd weekend; when working a weekend, a day off the week before or after is allowed
• Holiday rotation participation required
• Scrub color: Any
• Shift hours: Flexible, generally Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm with a 1-hour lunch
• Orientation: 1.5 to 2 weeks floor-specific orientation
• Call requirement: 2-4 times per month on weekdays, from 5pm-8am
• Patient types: Infusions, IV antibiotics, TPN, central lines, PICC lines, blood draws
• Pediatric infusions may be required; pediatric patients are referred to ER for evaluation
• Typical workday: 8 hours

• The patient population is primarily adult; pediatric patients are rare and handled differently
• Call shifts are weekday evenings/nights and occur multiple times per month
