Registered Nurse (RN) – PCU 4E, 4th Floor East Wing
Location: Omaha, Nebraska
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit & Patient Population
- Unit: 4th Floor East Wing
- Level of Care: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Number of Beds: 55
- Patient Population: Adults primarily; pediatric patients rarely, age 15 and older
- Common Diagnoses: CVA, TIA, shortness of breath, COVID, subdural hematoma, weakness
Work Schedule
- Shift Length: 12 hours
- Shift Times: 0630-1830 (day), 1830-0630 (night)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- RN-to-Patient Ratio: 1:4 (days and nights)
Team & Support
- Nursing Assistant support available
- Charge Nurse present
- Additional Unit Support: Educator, Care Managers, Social Workers, Dieticians, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy
Equipment & Technology
- EMR System: EPIC
- IV Pumps: Alaris
- Specialty Equipment: Mechanical lifts in every other room
- Common Drips/Medications: PCA pumps for pain management, cardizem, insulin
Required Certifications & Competencies
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Telemetry competency required

- Scrubs: Navy Blue for RNs
- Float: Yes, ideally to Medical-Surgical areas based on highest need

- Patient Experience Focus: Hourly rounding and responsiveness
