Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts
• Self-scheduling
• 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Holiday rotation with permanent staff

Required Qualifications

• Active BLS and ACLS certification
• Strong cardiac telemetry background, preferably 2 years
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips
• Ability to titrate and decrease cardiac drips per physician orders and parameters

Clinical Setting

• ED holds patients waiting for inpatient placement, primarily medical-surgical/telemetry
• Telemetry-focused assignment
• No monitor tech on the unit
• No vents on the unit

Responsibilities

• Titrate drips as needed
• May assist with ED tasks such as vital signs, IV starts, and medication administration
• Not assigned as the primary RN for ED patient assignments

Floating

• May float to medical-surgical, telemetry, overflow, and other ED units as needed

Orientation and Screening

• 2 shifts of orientation to medical-surgical/telemetry at the primary campus
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam before start
• Must pass a simulation lab on day one of orientation

Additional Details

• Navy scrubs required
• No call required
