Job Description

• General Duties:

  • Prepare exam area and maintain sterile technique.
  • Assist physicians with procedures, including passing supplies and filming cases.
  • Transport patients.
  • Perform vascular and neurovascular procedures, biopsies, and line placements.

• Equipment Utilized:

  • EPIC charting system
  • Fluoroscopy equipment
  • Ultrasound

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum Experience: Preferably 2 years in Interventional Radiology (IR) or Cath Lab.
• Skills:

  • Assisting physicians with arteriograms and specialized radiologic procedures.
  • Preparing examination areas and positioning patients.
  • Operating complex radiology equipment.

Licensure and Certifications

• Required:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • AART (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)

Schedule and Call Requirements

• Shift: Monday to Friday, varied shifts between 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM.
• Call Requirement: 8-9 call shifts every 6 weeks, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Will work alone with an RN.

• Procedure Rooms: 5
• Dress Code: Surgical scrubs (provided)

Orientation and Training

• Training Program: 3-5 day orientation with another Radiologic Technologist (RTR) and 1 day of EPIC training.

Additional Information

• Candidates must understand that OSF is a Drug-Free Campus and must produce a negative drug screen.
• Candidates should have BLS from AHA and preferably 2 years of experience in IR or Cath Lab.
