Position Overview
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN)
- Location: Manchester, NH
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Unit: Emergency Department (Fast-paced ER with strong pediatric presence)
- Shift: 12-hour shifts (3:00 PM - 3:30 AM), 36 hours per week
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Call Requirement: None
- Float Requirement: May float to ICU and ED for helping hands and patient sitting
- Team Approach: Helping Hands/Team Nursing
Experience & Skills Required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a fast-paced Emergency Department
- Experience with pediatric population highly preferred
- First-time travelers not accepted
- Epic electronic health record experience required
- Skills:
- General Emergency Department care (combined adult and pediatric)
- Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Triage skills
Certifications Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA provider only
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA provider only
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)

- Education verification (high school acceptable for CNAs)
- Motor vehicle background check (if applicable)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Transcript/diploma may be accepted if education verification pending
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year prior to start
- Fit mask test annually (N95 or equivalent masks)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within last 10 years (medical/religious exemptions allowed with documentation)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (2-step PPD or equivalent)
- TB questionnaire required annually
- Immunity or vaccination documentation for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (declinations accepted with waiver)
- Varicella (history of disease not accepted)
- 10-panel drug screen within 14 days prior to start (with a 7-day grace period)
- Seasonal flu vaccination required during October 31 - April 1 period (medical/religious exemptions allowed with documentation)
- Respiratory safety clearance questionnaire required
Testing & Competencies
- Pass/fail Basic Dysrhythmia EKG exam within 48 hours of contract signing (for certain units)
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam
- Competency exam
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) certification (online accepted)
- NIH Stroke Certification (valid for 2 years)
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgement (OSHA education)
References & History
- Two current professional references within last 3 years (one must be a supervisor)
