Job Description
- Rooming patients in a cardiology clinic
- Taking vitals and ECGs
- Medication reconciliation
Required Credentials & Certifications
- State License: Missouri state license verification required within 60 days of start
- BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or ARC Provider card required for all RNs and applicable techs
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for RNs in critical care areas; check if applicable
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required for ER, Pediatrics, PICU, and applicable RRTs
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program): Required for L&D, NICU, Postpartum, Nursery RNs, and applicable RRTs
- CHEMO Certification: Required for Oncology (new requirement as of 3/28/25)
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course): Required for ER RNs starting 11/5/2024
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring): Required for L&D RNs, must update every 2 years
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute): Required for Psych/Behavioral Health RNs
- Other Allied Certifications: Various certifications required depending on specialty (e.g., ARRT for Radiology Techs, ASCP for Lab Techs)
- NURSYS Verification: Required within 60 days of start for RN, LPN/LVN, AP
Background & Screening Requirements
- 7-year Background Check: Must be completed within 60 days of start, including alias search, counties lived/worked, national criminal, sex offender, social security trace, and international checks if applicable
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG Exclusion Checks: Required within 60 days of start
- Missouri State-Specific Searches: MO FCSR and MO EDL searches required within 60 days; candidate cannot start with both pending
- International Background Check: Required if candidate has traveled outside the USA in the last 7 years (exceptions for certain military personnel)
- Drug Testing: Negative 7-panel drug screen required within 60 days of start
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical Exam: Must be completed within 1 year of start; initiate within 48 hours of signing
- Fit Mask Test: Valid fit test within 1 year required (exceptions apply for some roles)
- Vaccinations:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years (or approved exemption)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 MMR vaccines required; boosters if low titer
- Hepatitis B series or positive titer required (declinations not accepted for new candidates after 7/1/2023)
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; boosters if low titer
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (10/01 - 03/31)
Documentation & Compliance
- Photo for Badge: Required for new candidates (head and shoulders, neutral background)
- Employment Application: Resume with minimum 7 years employment history, no gaps over 30 days, education details, and contact info required
- References: Two professional references within last 2 years required for non-clinical roles
- Competency Exams: Medication test/pharmacology and other competency exams as applicable
- Orientation & Safety: HIPAA acknowledgment and safety manual compliance required
- MO FCSR Worker Registration Form: Time sensitive, must be initiated within 48 hours of signing
- Caregiver Screening: MO Caregiver background screening results required if FCSR is pending
