Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract Position

Location: York, Pennsylvania

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Schedule & Work Details

• Day shift, 10-hour shifts between 6 AM - 7 PM
• Weekends and holidays as needed (minimal holiday requirement)
• Call required but very minimal, mostly to assist full-time staff
• Must be willing to stay until the last patient is cared for

Unit Information

• Invasive Cardiology Unit
• Includes 4 Cardiac Catheterization Labs and 2 Electrophysiology Labs
• 23 prep/recovery bays
• Performs over 6,000 procedures annually
• Advanced cardiovascular treatments including:

  • Complex coronary procedures
  • Ventricular assist device (VAD)/ECMO
  • Structural heart procedures (TAVR, left atrial appendage occlusion, PFO/ASD closure, mitral valve clipping)
  • Complex atrial and ventricular ablations
  • Pacemaker/ICD implant & explant
  • Cardioversion
  • Pulmonary artery pressure sensor implantation
  • Peripheral intervention and pulmonary embolectomy

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years nursing experience
• Certifications: ACLS & BLS required
• EPIC experience required
• Return to Office (RTO) max 7 days
• Floating: Not applicable
• May care for COVID patients
• Tobacco and fragrance-free facility

Documentation & Compliance Requirements

Background Checks

• 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
• HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
• PA FBI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; can start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days
• Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search required, must be finalized prior to start
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search required, can start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days

Certifications

• ACLS (AHA or ARC accepted)
• BLS (AHA or ARC accepted)
• State License primary source verification
• NURSYS verification for RN license
• Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing required for all RNs except OR and Home Health

Competency Exams

• Medication/Pharmacology competency as applicable
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (pass/fail) required for all RNs except OR and Home Health

Health Documents

• Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Hepatitis B (positive titer or full vaccine series)
  • TDAP within 10 years
  • Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
• Flu vaccine required during flu season or valid medical/religious exemption
• COVID-19 vaccine or exemption/declination accepted
• Drug testing: Negative 9-panel within 1 year (Aya requirement only)
• Respiratory safety clearance within 1 year, renewed annually

Facility Specific Documents

• Passport-style photo for badge (professional appearance, solid background)
• Medical Statement Non-Employee Ability to Work form within 90 days of start
• Review and sign:

  • Confidentiality Agreement
  • Non-Employee Affidavit
• Completion of WellSpan LMS modules prior to start (online, PC/laptop only)
• New Hire Orientation required by end of first day

History & Verification

• 2 professional references within 3 years
• Most recent resume/application required
• Annual skills checklist
• Performance evaluations completed onsite during assignment

Additional Notes

• Local rate is $5 less than posted bill rate
• Minimal call and holiday requirements
• Must be comfortable working in a tobacco and fragrance-free environment

This position offers an opportunity to work in a high-volume, advanced cardiovascular invasive cardiology unit with a supportive team and minimal call requirements.
