Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor & Delivery (L&D)
Location: Chicago, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery (L&D)
- Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
- Call Requirements: None
- Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 5 days off with no more than 2 consecutive days; no holiday RTO; no RTO the day before or after a holiday; no RTO on weekends
- Floating: Mandatory float facility; all clinicians must float within their scope as needed
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Experience & Certification Requirements
- Years of Experience: Minimum 2+ years with high-risk (Level 3) OB experience
- Required Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- AWHONN Intermediate
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
- Preferred Certification: AWHONN Advanced
Licensing & Location Preferences
- Locals Accepted: Yes, locals preferred
- Distance Requirement: Must live within 75 miles of the facility
- Pending License: Not accepted

Additional Requirements & Notes
- Background Checks: Must have a background check within 12 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years, updated annually
- Health Documents:
- Physical exam within 12 months, updated annually
- Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) within 1 year, updated annually
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years or signed declination within 12 months
- Negative TB test (QGold or TSPOT) within 12 months, updated annually (PPD not accepted after 12/15/2025)
- Required immunizations: Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer), Hepatitis B series or declination, Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 90 days of start, updated annually
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Apr 1)
- Competency Exams: Medication test/pharmacology, color blind testing, dysrhythmia/EKG competency (as applicable) required within 12 months of start
- Documentation: Must complete facility-specific forms and rules of behavior as required
