Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor & Delivery (L&D)

Location: Chicago, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery (L&D)
• Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
• Call Requirements: None
• Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 5 days off with no more than 2 consecutive days; no holiday RTO; no RTO the day before or after a holiday; no RTO on weekends
• Floating: Mandatory float facility; all clinicians must float within their scope as needed
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Experience & Certification Requirements

• Years of Experience: Minimum 2+ years with high-risk (Level 3) OB experience
• Required Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • AWHONN Intermediate
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
• Preferred Certification: AWHONN Advanced

Licensing & Location Preferences

• Locals Accepted: Yes, locals preferred
• Distance Requirement: Must live within 75 miles of the facility
• Pending License: Not accepted

Additional Requirements & Notes

• Background Checks: Must have a background check within 12 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years, updated annually
• Health Documents:

  • Physical exam within 12 months, updated annually
  • Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) within 1 year, updated annually
  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years or signed declination within 12 months
  • Negative TB test (QGold or TSPOT) within 12 months, updated annually (PPD not accepted after 12/15/2025)
  • Required immunizations: Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer), Hepatitis B series or declination, Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 90 days of start, updated annually
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Apr 1)
• Competency Exams: Medication test/pharmacology, color blind testing, dysrhythmia/EKG competency (as applicable) required within 12 months of start
• Documentation: Must complete facility-specific forms and rules of behavior as required
