Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Shift Details

  • Shift options: 11 AM - 11 PM or 1 PM - 1 AM (may change based on permanent staff scheduling)
  • On-call: As needed
  • Weekend requirement: As needed (no weekend block schedule, but weekend block may be considered)

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of travel nursing experience
  • Recent ER experience required (strict)
  • First-time travelers not accepted unless they have over 3 years of recent experience

Candidate Eligibility

  • Locals not accepted (must be outside a 100-mile radius)
  • Pending licenses not accepted; must comply with Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) guidelines
  • Return to Office (RTO) restrictions must be included at submission
  • Driver’s license required with submission

Required Skills and Preferences

  • Level I Trauma experience required
  • Must be willing to work 48-hour shifts
  • Large hospital experience preferred

  • NIH Stroke Certification (required for all RNs except at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital)
  • PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM certifications as applicable (depending on unit)

Licensure

  • Tennessee RN license or multistate license required
  • Must comply with all state licensing requirements

Background and Compliance Checks

  • Background check within 60 days of start, including statewide, county, federal, and education verification
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and annually thereafter
  • Sex offender search and Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry search (for TN facilities)
  • Education verification required (diploma/transcript not accepted in lieu)

Health and Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, attesting ability to meet job demands
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
  • Immunizations required:
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (proof of 2 vaccines or positive antibody titer with boosters if needed)
    • Hepatitis B (3-shot series, positive titer, or signed declination)
    • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive antibody titer with boosters if needed)
  • Tdap required only for candidates going to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required for onsite candidates during flu season (declinations not accepted)
  • COVID-19 vaccination preferred but not required

Drug Testing

  • Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start
  • No pending compliance allowed at start
  • Point-of-care (POC) tests not accepted

Facility-Specific Requirements

  • Scrub color code: Navy blue for RNs (no prints or embroidered scrubs allowed)
  • Photo badge required with strict guidelines (passport-style photo, no hats, no glasses glare, no filters, taken within last 6 months)
  • Confidentiality acknowledgment must be signed prior to start
  • EPIC questionnaire required for RNs (testing out of EPIC training possible if experienced)
  • Onsite fit test for N-95 mask required prior to start (3M N-95 only, no exceptions)

  • I9 form and attestation
  • Two forms of government-issued ID (driver’s license plus social security card, passport, etc.)
  • Social Security card
  • E-Verify or attestation
  • State license copy and verification
  • Certifications (ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke, etc.)

  • References (two recent professional references required)

  • Must be willing to work in a Level I Trauma Center environment
  • Large hospital experience preferred
