Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Salina, Kansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (Labor & Delivery)
• Experience Required: Minimum 1.5 years in specialty
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required; first-time travelers will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis
• Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM
• Weekends: Every other weekend required
• License: Kansas state license or Compact License at time of submission
• EMR System: Meditech (experience required, no exceptions)

Certifications Required

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• AWHONN Intermediate FHM
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)

Skills Required

• Assist with sterile speculum exam, NST, OCT, reflex checks, sterile vaginal exam, tele interpretation
• Use of internal/external fetal monitoring, IVs, medication administration
• Labor & Delivery management including high-risk delivery, forceps/vacuum, C-sections, neonatal care, newborn care, postpartum care, surgical cases

Preferred Skills

• LDRP
• Assist with amniocentesis
• Spiral electrode placement
• Use of IUPC

Work Settings

• Antepartum
• Facility birth (<100 and 100-200 births)
• High-risk antepartum
• Labor & Delivery
• Mother-baby unit

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background checks including 7-year criminal check, FACIS Level III, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG
• Proof of highest degree and education verification
• Nursys verification for RN license
• Physical exam within 30 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or ARNP
• N95 Fit Test within 12 months (can be completed onsite during orientation)
• Immunizations and titers: Tdap (current within 10 years, required for Birth Center/NICU), Hepatitis B, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Flu vaccine or declination during flu season
• Drug testing: 10-panel drug screen including marijuana within 30 days of start (SAMHSA certified, MRO reviewed)
• COVID-19 vaccine or declination accepted
• References: 2 professional references within 2 years required for travel positions
• Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable
• Completion of facility-specific Healthstream modules prior to start (approx. 8 hours)
• Photo for badge required
