Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Milford, Massachusetts
Contract Length: 10 weeks

Job Requirements

• License: Massachusetts RN license required
• Experience: Minimum 2 years telemetry experience required
• Preferred Experience: Previous PCU experience preferred
• Charting System: Meditech Expanse highly preferred but not mandatory
• Schedule: Every other weekend and holiday
• Position Type: True float position (floated to various units except ICU)
• Units:

  • ED holds
  • Med Surg/Tele
  • Medical Oncology
  • Surgical
  • Cardiac
  • PCU
  • Possible float to Endo for basic patient care only

Certifications & Competencies

• Required Certifications:

  • ACLS (AHA)
  • BLS (AHA)
  • Medication Exam (Pass/Fail)
  • Telemetry Exam (Pass/Fail) for telemetry units (one attempt only, minimum 80% score)
  • State License Verification within 30 days of start
  • NURSYS Verification within 30 days prior to start
  • Tech Cert Verification within 30 days of start
• Preferred Certifications:

  • CHEMO (for Oncology)
  • TNCC (for ER)
• Other Competencies:

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required for all RNs
  • Competency Exam as applicable

Health & Background Requirements

• Background Checks:

  • 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks if run separately
  • Massachusetts Statewide iCORI clearance required within 30 days prior to start
• Health Documents:

  • Physical exam within 12 months of start with fitness to work statement
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
  • TB Questionnaire required for all candidates
  • Immunizations or declinations required for:

    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B
    • Varicella
    • Flu seasonal vaccination or declination (during flu season)
    • COVID-19 vaccination (most recent) or declination
  • Drug testing within 30 days of start
• Declinations: Some declinations are not accepted for Pediatrics, Maternity, NICU units

Additional Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License or State ID
• 2 professional references within 3 years
• Employment application covering 7 years with explanations for gaps over 30 days
• Skills checklist required prior to start and updated annually
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position

Work Environment

• True float role with potential assignments across multiple units except ICU
• Possible basic care float to Endocrinology unit
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
