Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Oakland, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse
  • Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours each (3x12)
  • Schedule: Weekends every other weekend
  • Call: None
  • Holidays: Work if falls on scheduled days
  • Required Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty
  • Required Certifications:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • Required Skills:
    • Circulate for C-Section
    • Recover C-Section
    • Pain assessment and management

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

Identification

  • Valid Driver’s License or Passport (photo ID, color, clearly visible)

Background Checks (within 90 days prior to start)

  • Comprehensive background check including:
    • SSN Trace
    • 7-year Nationwide, County, and National Criminal searches
    • FACIS Level 3
    • National Sex Offender Registry
    • OIG Sanction Search
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM verification
  • No pending background checks accepted

Education Verification

  • Verification of highest level of education required
  • Must meet minimum education requirements before start

Licenses & Certifications

  • State License (current and unencumbered)
  • NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP) within 15 days prior to start
  • Other certifications as applicable (e.g., PALS, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM, CPI) may be required depending on unit

Health & Immunizations (within 90 days prior to start)

  • Physical Exam signed by MD, DO, PA, NP, or APRN confirming good health and ability to perform duties
  • Fit Mask test with approved masks (3M 8210, 3M 1860S, 3M 1860R)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (TDAP within 10 years or signed declination)
  • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (updated annually)
  • TB Questionnaire (updated annually)
  • Proof of immunizations or positive titers for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (positive titer or declination)
    • Varicella
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or declination documentation required by November 6
  • Drug Testing: Oral saliva drug screen within 30 days of start (rapid tests not accepted)

Competencies & Orientation

  • Completion of facility-specific competencies and New Employee Orientation (NEO) modules on first day
  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
  • Color Blind Testing (Ishihara exam accepted) within 90 days prior to start

  • Current resume including last 7 years of employment
  • Employment verification for past 3 years
  • References as required by agency

  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
  • This is a travel/contract role with a 13-week assignment.
  • No call responsibilities.

This position is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses with at least 2 years of clinical experience, certified in ACLS, BLS, and NRP, who are comfortable working 12-hour shifts and have skills in C-Section circulation and recovery as well as pain management.
