Position Summary

Seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a 13-week travel contract at a 30-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital.

Requirements

• Specialty: Therapy/Rehabilitation
• Years of Experience Required: 1 year
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required (First-timers accepted)
• Certifications:

  • Current CPR Certification (required)
  • ACLS Certification (preferred; required if in Charge Nurse role)
• Licensure: Must provide proof of license at time of submission
• Shift: Details listed in job order (not specified here)
• Weekend Requirement: Not applicable
• On-Call Requirement: Not applicable
• Floating Between Units: Not applicable

• Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital (not a nursing home or LTAC)
• Patient stay averages about 14 days

Scheduling & Time Off

• RTO (Request Time Off) only approved at time of submission; no approvals after offer
• Cannot take every holiday off
• Call-outs require more than 24 hours’ notice

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
• Emergency Contact Form prior to start
• Background checks including 7-year history and annual updates (SS Trace, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG)
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS (as applicable)
• State License verification (primary source online verification)
• Competency exams as applicable (Medication Test/Pharmacology, general competency)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• Immunizations or titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Drug testing: 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start
• Flu vaccination or facility-specific declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
• COVID-19 vaccination: Fully vaccinated plus booster required prior to start; exemptions possible with approval and facility-specific forms
• References:

  • 2 professional references for travel, allied, per diem acute care
  • 1 professional reference for per diem non-acute care
• Annual skills checklist required

• This is an inpatient rehab setting, not a long-term care or nursing home environment
