Job Opportunity: RRT-NICU (Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics)
Location: Manchester, New Hampshire
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 3x12 (6:15 AM - 6:45 PM)
- Call Requirement: None
- Float Requirement: None
- Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend (EOW) required
Required Qualifications
- Valid Pediatric Respiratory Therapist license in New Hampshire
- Minimum 2 years of Pediatric Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- At least one completed travel assignment
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Comprehensive background check within 30 days of start, including:
- Social Security Verification
- National Sex Offender Registry Search
- National Criminal Search
- Education Verification
- State and county criminal searches (excluding NH counties; NH State Police Search required instead)
- BEAS (Bureau of Elderly and Adult Services) Background Report for NH placements
- Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within 14 days prior to start
- Employment application and skills checklist required
- Two professional references within the last 3 years, including one from a supervisor or charge RN
- SSA release and state-specific releases (NH Statewide Release required)
- Pass/fail testing for EKG/Dysrhythmia may be required depending on unit assignment
- Respiratory Safety Clearance questionnaire required prior to start
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year prior to start
- Annual fit mask test (N95 or equivalent)
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within last 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (2-step PPD or equivalent)
- TB Questionnaire per CDC guidelines
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Immune titer or 2 vaccines at least 28 days apart
- Hepatitis B: Immune titer or 3 vaccines at least 28 days apart (declinations accepted with waiver)
- Varicella: Immune titer or 2 vaccines at least 28 days apart (history of disease not accepted)
- Seasonal flu vaccination required during October 31 - April 1 period, with medical or religious exemptions allowed via facility-specific waiver forms
- Hepatitis B waiver required if declining vaccine
- Medical and religious exemption forms required for flu and Tdap vaccines if applicable
Additional Notes
- Travelers who have previously been employed by the associated health system are not eligible regardless of separation time
- Passport-style photo required for badge
- Proof of auto insurance required if providing home health or hospice care
- Facility requires documentation of OSHA education (Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement)
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) certification preferred/required depending on unit
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification preferred/required depending on unit
- Competency exams (medication, pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG) may be required for internal purposes and/or facility compliance
This position is ideal for experienced Respiratory Therapists with NICU specialty who meet the licensing and certification requirements and have prior travel contract experience.
