Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Location: Dowagiac, Michigan

Job Details

• Specialty: Medical-Surgical Nursing with Cardiac/Telemetry focus
• Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, Night shift (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Call Requirement: Possible call due to census, agency attempts to ensure required hours
• Weekend Requirement: Alternating weekends
• Floating: No floating required
• Holiday Requirement: Typically every other holiday on a standard rotation
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Charting System: Cerner Powerchart
• Locals: Not accepted; candidates must live at least 50 miles away from the facility
• First-time Travelers: Accepted

Required Experience

• Years of Specialty Experience: Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical nursing experience required
• Additional Experience: Step-down or similar experience is a plus
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Required Qualifications & Certifications

• License: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Michigan
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
  • Other certifications may be required depending on unit (refer to unit-specific job descriptions)

Background & Health Requirements

• Background check covering last 7 years and all states lived/worked in, required within 90 days of start
• Education verification or copy of diploma/transcripts required
• Physical exam required
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start (2-step PPD or Qgold accepted; T-Spot not accepted)
• TB questionnaire required prior to start and annually thereafter
• Immunizations or titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
  • Varicella
• Negative 12-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (includes amphetamines, cannabinoids, MDMA, methamphetamines, buprenorphine, oxycodone, fentanyl, cocaine, methadone, tramadol, benzodiazepines, morphine/opiate)
• Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required prior to start (flu season October–May)
• COVID vaccine exemption allowed with medical or religious documentation

Additional Notes

• Candidates must submit a clear, passport-style photo for badge issuance
• Facility-specific modules (70-80 modules, approx. 8-10 hours) must be completed prior to start; paid hours for completion provided
• Michigan state fingerprint results required
