Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Operating Room
Location: Chicago, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Operating Room)
- Shift: 5x8 hour shifts, 8:30 PM - 7:00 AM
- Call Requirements: One 10-hour shift per month on a weekend (Saturday or Sunday), either 7 AM - 7 PM or 7 PM - 7 AM. No weekday call.
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
- Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 5 days off with no more than 2 consecutive days. No holiday RTO, no RTO the day before or after a holiday, and no RTO on weekends.
- Floating: Mandatory float facility; all clinicians must float within their scope as needed.
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience Requirements
- Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in the Operating Room
- Required Experience:
- Level 1 Trauma experience
- Strong scrub and circulate skills
- Experience in Orthopedics, Orthopedic Trauma, Vascular, Urology, General Surgery
- Preferred Experience: Neurosurgery (cranial and spine), Open Heart/Thoracic, Ophthalmology, ENT, Bariatric, Gynecology
Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
Licensure & Location
- Must live within 75 miles of the facility (locals preferred)
- Pending licenses are NOT accepted

Additional Requirements & Compliance
- Background check within 12 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, updated annually
- Various background screenings including EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG within 30 days of start
- Physical exam within 12 months, updated annually
- Fit mask test within 1 year, required annually
- Immunizations and health documents required: Tdap, Negative TB test (QGold or TSPOT), MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Negative 9-panel drug screen within 90 days of start, updated annually
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Apr 1)
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests required within 12 months of start
- Must complete facility-specific forms and rules of behavior
