Job Summary

Seeking a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse with a minimum of 2 years of experience (5-10 years preferred). This role requires expertise in labor and delivery, postpartum care, and newborn stabilization. The position includes float responsibilities and variable weekend shifts.

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years in specialty (Labor and Delivery)
• Preferred 5-10 years experience

Key Responsibilities and Skills

• Labor & Delivery (L&D), postpartum, Mother-Baby care
• Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM), Vaginal Exams, Labor Support
• Management of pregnancy-related diagnoses
• Pitocin induction, induction of labor, repeat and primary C-sections
• L&D triage for pregnancies 20 weeks and greater
• Labor management and newborn resuscitation/stabilization after birth
• Assist with breastfeeding after delivery
• Non-Stress Tests

Work Environment

• Acute Care Hospital with 210 staffed beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:2-3
• No on-call required
• Float required
• Weekend requirements vary based on need
• No local candidates (must live more than 30 miles from facility)

Certifications and Licenses Required

• Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Florida
• BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• AWHONN Intermediate certification preferred
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required
• Other preferred certifications:

  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – preferred, not required
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) – preferred, not required
• Must have current and verifiable certifications prior to start

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Background check within 6 months including social security trace, nationwide and sex offender checks, education verification
• Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start
• Education verification (ASN, BSN, or MSN)
• Physical exam within 6 months of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• Drug screening (9-panel) within 3 months of start
• COVID-19 vaccination documentation or approved exemption forms
• Required facility-specific orientation and competency modules must be completed prior to start
• Two professional references within 2 years
• Performance evaluation within the last year if applicable
• Skills checklist and medication/pharmacology competency exams required

• Strict attendance policy: 3 call-outs result in termination
