Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Tech (IR Tech)
Location: South Bend, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Interventional Radiology)
- Shift: 5x8 Day shift (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM), On-call hours 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- Call Requirements:
- Every 3rd or 4th weekend on call
- One weekday on call except the 4th week, which is a full week of call
- Weekend Requirement: On-call weekends only
- Holiday Requirement: As needed
- Floating: None
- Daily Caseload: 10-15 cases per tech
Experience & Requirements
- Years of Experience Required: 2 years in specialty (Interventional Radiology)
- First-time travelers accepted: Yes
- Locals: Not accepted; traveler must live at least 50 miles away from the facility
- Pending State License: Accepted if active by start date
- Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required
Clinical Skills & Knowledge
- Must be able to scrub cases
- Familiarity with wires
- Experience with GE and Siemens Fluoro rooms
- Vascular IR experience including:
- Endografts
- Neurovascular and trauma cases
- Body IR procedures
- Neurovascular IR experience required (stroke thrombectomy facility)

Certifications & Compliance
- Required Certifications:
- ACLS (AHA only)
- BLS (AHA only)
- Other certifications as applicable per unit (PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification, etc.) may be required depending on unit assignment
- State License: Must be verified and active
- Background Check: Required within 90 days of start, covering last 7 years and all states lived/worked in
- Drug Testing: Negative 12-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Health Documents:
- Physical exam
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (Qgold accepted, T-Spot not accepted)
- Immunizations or titers for Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B
- Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required prior to start (flu season October–May)
- COVID-19: Medical and religious exemptions accepted with proper documentation
Additional Requirements
- Clear, passport-style photo for badge
- Completion of facility-specific modules prior to start (approx. 8-10 hours)
- Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement required before start
- On-site EKG exam required for Monitor Techs (if applicable)
This position is ideal for an Interventional Radiology Tech with at least 2 years of experience, comfortable with neurovascular procedures and vascular IR, who is willing to travel and meet the specified call and shift requirements.
