Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse

Location: Tyler, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Work Schedule

  • Day shift, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (6:30 AM – 4:00 PM)
  • One day off either Friday or Monday as needed
  • Call requirements included

Required Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 1.5 years of Operating Room (OR) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Experience required in Orthopedics, Neurology, Vascular Surgery, and Urology

Required Licenses & Certifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Texas (primary source verification required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License or State ID
  • E-Verify compliance or attestation as applicable
  • 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • Education verification of highest level completed (Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing required)
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
  • Physical exam within 12 months of start
  • Fit test for approved masks within 1 year of start, renewed annually
  • Immunizations and titers required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
    • Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
    • Varicella (positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented chickenpox history)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31)

Additional Requirements

  • Unit-specific skills checklist required annually
  • 7-year work history verification required
  • Complete employment application and resume required
  • Clear headshot photo for badge issuance

Location Restrictions

  • Candidates residing in the following Texas counties are not eligible for this travel assignment: Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris

This position offers a structured 13-week travel contract with a focus on perioperative nursing in a high-acuity surgical environment requiring diverse surgical experience and prior travel nursing exposure.
