Radiation Therapist Travel/Contract Position

Location: Lexington, Kentucky
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Hours: 40 hours per week (8 hours per day)


Job Summary

  • Provide accurate and efficient radiation therapy treatments according to physician prescriptions.
  • Ensure safety of patients and staff during treatments.
  • Perform daily quality assurance (QA) and warm-up procedures on treatment machines.
  • Accurately document daily patient treatments.
  • Candidates with a Kentucky license pending will be considered, but must obtain the Kentucky Radiation Therapist state license before starting.
  • Local travelers within 100 miles are not accepted.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Radiation Therapist license in Kentucky.
  • Minimum of 1 year of Radiation Therapist experience.
  • Radiation Therapist experience within the last year.

Experience

  • Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Radiation Therapist).

  • COVID vaccination initial series required or approved exemption; booster preferred but not required.

Competency and Skills Requirements

  • Unit-specific competency exams required annually with passing scores (80% or higher).
  • Medication/pharmacology competency exam required for RNs within 1 year of start.
  • Color blindness testing required within 1 year.
  • Conscious sedation competency exam if applicable, updated annually.
  • RN math ability competency exam required annually.
  • Skills checklists required annually, specific to specialty and unit.
  • Acknowledgement of pass/fail testing required for ICU, ER, PACU, Telemetry, Step Down, and other critical care units.

Additional Facility Requirements

  • Must review and comply with facility-specific policies including COVID-19 immunization communication, confidentiality, acceptable use, electronic communications, and password policies.
  • EKG exam and certification required for certain units; must pass with remediation plan if needed.
  • Annual EKG competency certification completed onsite required for applicable units.
