ICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Columbia, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Overview

  • Work every other weekend and 50% of holidays.
  • Floating required primarily to Adult ICU Cluster; Med Surg as secondary assignment.
  • Position is physically active: requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects over 20 lbs.
  • Exposure to patients with contagious illnesses is routine.
  • Facility operates 24/7, 365 days a year; rotating shifts, holiday work, and work during inclement weather required.
  • Must be able to:
    • Work full term at assigned location.
    • Work substantial portion of assigned shifts.
    • Take call as needed.
    • Work assigned weekends and at least half of holidays during contract.
  • No local candidates within 50 miles accepted.
  • First-time travel nurses accepted if they have solid ICU experience in a large facility or academic center.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri.
  • Minimum of 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, with ICU experience within the last year.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Certifications required:
    • Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS)
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)

Additional Information

  • Orientation safety manual and HIPAA acknowledgment required.
  • Photo for badge required for new candidates only (head and shoulders, neutral background, no filters).
  • Must be able to work night shifts and meet physical demands of the role.
  • Prior travel experience is not required; first-time travelers with strong ICU background are accepted.
