Job info

Performs pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic laboratory procedures on biological specimens
May handle specimen/material receipt, preparation, archival/retrieval, validation testing, and problem troubleshooting
Receives, verifies, and accessions specimens
Processes specimens for testing and submission to other laboratories as needed
Performs data entry throughout testing, interpretation, and reporting
Maintains equipment, facilities, supplies, and reagents
Performs gross dissection and description of pathology specimens
Assists with intra-procedural consultations, including gross examinations and frozen sectioning
Performs post-mortem examinations and related documentation
Handles ancillary processes such as decalcification, photography, and x-ray imaging
Manages pathology materials, including storage, retrieval, and disposal of tissue and chemical waste
Audits accessioning and coding, makes corrections, and provides feedback
Troubleshoots problems and reports findings to laboratory leadership
Participates in compliance, validation, implementation, and quality control activities
