Trauma/Neuro ICU RN

Overview

• Travel/Contract RN role in Ventura, California
• 13-week assignment
• Night shift: 3x12 hours, 18:45–7:15
• 36 hours per week
• Float required within the service line
• Ratios: 1:2
• Patient population: Adolescents to Geriatrics
• First-timers accepted if minimum requirements are met

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in California
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• 2 years of STICU - Surgical Trauma Intensive Care experience
• STICU - Surgical Trauma Intensive Care experience within the last year
• Experience with Cerner
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course or T-CAR (Trauma Care After Resuscitation)
• NIHSS
• Experience working with Spinal Cord Injury patients
• Experience with CRRT
• Experience with CVVHD
• Experience with shunt and fistula care
• Experience with external ventricular drains (EVD)
• Experience with neuro monitoring
• Experience with therapeutic hypothermia
• Experience with the Arctic Sun temperature management system
• Experience with traumatic brain injury (TBI) management
• Experience caring for spinal cord injury patients

Preferred Qualifications

• CPI
• MAB

Work Setting

• Surgical Intensive Care Unit

Additional Notes

• The unit performs extensive chart audits
• RTO must be included on the initial submittal for the full contract length
