Medsurg Float Pool RN

Overview

Travel/contract RN position in Waterbury, Connecticut
Float pool assignment for the Medsurg units
Adults and geriatrics patient population
12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
36 or 48 hours per week available
Every other weekend coverage

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Connecticut
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
BLS issued by American Heart Association
Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience
Blood Product Administration
Peripheral Line Care/Management
Experience with PICC lines
IV insertion skills

Background check
EPLS/GSA/SAM
HHS/OIG
Connecticut state exclusion list search
Physical exam within 1 year of start
Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
Rubeola, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis B, COVID, and flu documentation or vaccination status as specified by the source
Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start
2 professional references within 3 years of start
Photo for badge
Facility modules must be completed before start

Testing and Competencies

Medication administration competency exam on first day
Pass/fail testing required for RNs
Medication test/pharmacology competency exam
Competency exam

Candidates within 75 miles are considered local and must be noted upon submission
