Job Opportunity: Infusion Registered Nurse

Location: San Francisco, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 24 weeks


Job Description

  • 8-hour day shifts
  • Must be able to float to other facilities within the system
  • Outpatient infusion nursing role with oncology focus

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in California
  • Minimum 2 years of infusion nursing experience, including infusion experience within the last year
  • Oncology experience
  • Experience in an outpatient setting
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Chemotherapy certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification

Certifications & Competencies

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA approved (required for many clinical areas)
  • BLS - AHA approved (required for all clinical positions)
  • Chemotherapy certification required for oncology roles
  • Pass/Fail Telemetry and Medication exams required on first day of orientation
  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (passing score 80%+) within 1 year of start
  • Unit-specific competency exams (passing score 80%+) within 12 months of start
  • Core Parts I, II, and III competency exams (passing score 80%+) annually
  • Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM)

Background & Health Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, renewed annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
  • Education verification or copy of diploma/transcript
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start including fitness to work statement
  • Drug testing (standard 9 panel excluding THC) within 30 days of start, re-run every 2 years
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific approved masks required)
  • Immunizations and titers required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years, no declinations accepted except medical exemptions)
    • Two negative TB tests (PPD, QuantiFERON, or Tspot) with specific timing requirements
    • Annual TB questionnaire
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (IGG titers or 2 vaccines)
    • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
    • Varicella (IGG titer or 2 vaccines; history of disease not accepted)
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific declination (required Nov-April)
    • COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption/declination as per facility policy

Additional Requirements

  • Two supervisory references required (preferably from most recent employment)
  • Current and updated resume with last 7 years of work history; gaps of 30+ days must be explained
  • Unit-specific skills checklist updated annually
  • Ability to complete required learning modules and pass orientation exams before starting clinical work
  • Compliance with facility-specific policies including parking, uniform, and COVID-19 preparedness
  • Completion of cybersecurity and HIPAA training modules and quizzes with passing scores
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) training may be required depending on unit
