Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel/Contract

Location: Chicago, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery (L&D)
  • Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
  • Call Requirements: None
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Floating: Mandatory float within scope as needed by the facility
  • Scheduling Time Off (RTO):
    • Maximum 5 days off with no more than 2 consecutive days
    • No time off allowed on holidays, weekends, or the day before/after a holiday

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year
  • Experience working with high-risk patients
  • Certifications:
    • ACLS issued by the American Heart Association
    • BLS issued by the American Heart Association
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
    • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
    • AWHONN Intermediate
  • Proficient in Electronic Fetal Monitoring
  • Education: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

  • Required immunizations or titers: Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer), Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer), Hepatitis B series or declination
  • Negative 9-panel drug screen within 90 days of start, updated annually
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Apr 1)

Competency and Documentation Requirements

  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam (required within 12 months of start)
  • Color blind testing (required within 12 months of start)
  • Competency exam (required within 12 months of start)
  • Floating within scope is mandatory
  • Annual skills checklist required

  • No block scheduling

  • Locals preferred but travel candidates accepted
