Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (PCU/MI) - Travel/Contract
Location: Lees Summit, Missouri
Facility Type: Community Hospital
Unit: Progressive Care Unit / Medical Intermediate (PCU/MI)
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts (18:45 - 07:15)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Patient Ratios: 1:5
- Floating: Regular floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed.
- Weekend Requirement: 8 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule period (combination of Friday, Saturday, Sunday).
- Holiday Shifts & Charge RN Assignments: As needed per unit.
- Block Schedule: Not accommodated.
- Local Candidates: Not accepted (home address must be at least 75 miles from facility).
- On-call: Not required.
- Pending License: Not accepted.
- Return to Office Restrictions: No more than 7 days.
- Guaranteed Hours: Minimum 3 shifts per 13 weeks.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of telemetry experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
- Experience with on-unit telemetry monitoring
- Med Surg / Telemetry experience
- PCU (Progressive Care Unit) experience
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIHSS certification
Facility & Work Environment
- Total Staffed Beds: 240 beds, including a 16-bed ICU.
- Charting System: EPIC electronic health record.
- Uniform Color: Navy scrub color.
- Parking: Free.
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background Checks:
- Criminal background check within 6 months (including statewide and nationwide searches).
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG quarterly checks.
- Education verification of highest nursing degree.
- Health Requirements:
- Physical exam within 1 year of start.
- Fit mask testing (N95) annually required.
- Immunizations and titers: Tdap, Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella with appropriate documentation or declinations.
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year.
- Drug testing within 1 year, including a full panel of substances.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season.
- Competency Exams:
- Unit-specific competency exams including medication/pharmacology and dysrhythmia/EKG competency within 12 months.
- Facility-Specific Documents:
- HIPAA Acknowledgement, Latex Allergy Questionnaire, Confidentiality Form, Regulatory Compliance Education, Hepatitis B Declination, TB Questionnaire, Hand Hygiene Policy, Fingernail Policy, Dress Code Policy, and Orientation Modules (completed via WorkRamp).
- Photo ID: Badge photo required within 6 months of start.
- References: Two professional references required, preferably supervisors within the last year.
Additional Notes
- Floating between units and departments is expected within the scope of practice.
- Candidates must be able to work required weekend shifts and holiday shifts as assigned.
- No pending licenses accepted; all licenses must be active and verifiable prior to start.
- Local candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible for this travel assignment.
