Job Description

• Night shift Telemetry RN position
• Weekend work required every other weekend (EOW) and as needed by the unit
• On-call as needed
• May float to other units within scope of practice, including different campuses (Summit or Herrick) with approximately 1.5 hours notice before shift start
• Shuttle service provided for floating between campuses

Required Qualifications

Licensure & Certifications

• Valid RN license in California
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience, including experience within the last year
• Minimum 6 months of total travel nursing experience

Education

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Background & Compliance Requirements

• 7-year background check required within 6 months of start
• EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, FACIS Level 3, Sex Offender Search, OFAC Sanctions List, and other federal/state screenings as applicable
• Education verification (Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred)
• Employment history verification covering 7 years with no gaps over 30 days
• References: 2 professional references required (Aya requirement, not client)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (with accommodations for religious exemptions or facial hair)
• Immunizations and/or titers required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
  • Hepatitis B series or declination
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov-April) or signed declination
• Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids per CA law)
• Respiratory safety clearance required annually

Competency Exams (as applicable)

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (may be required for some Tele units)
• General competency exams with minimum passing scores

Additional Notes

• Candidate must review and sign facility-specific documents including job description, standards of business conduct, confidentiality agreements, HIPAA agreements, and orientation materials prior to start
• Floating flexibility is expected for all travel nurses
• Shuttle service available for floating between campuses
• Prior travel experience explicitly required (minimum 6 months)

This position is ideal for experienced Telemetry RNs with prior travel nursing experience who are flexible and able to work night shifts with weekend and on-call responsibilities.
