Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist - Inpatient Rehab
Location: South Bend, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Therapy/Rehabilitation (Occupational Therapy)
- Shift: 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other Saturday (8 hours) and Sunday (4 hours) with flexible time off the week before and after weekend shifts
- On-Call: No on-call required; all shifts are scheduled
- Floating: Yes, between inpatient rehab and acute care units
- Holiday Work: Optional, paid at time and a half
- Charting System: Cerner
- Scrubs: Grey
Candidate Requirements
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in Indiana
- Occupational Therapist with 1 year of experience
- Occupational Therapist experience within the last year
- Prior hospital experience (required for first-time travelers)
Required Qualifications & Certifications
- Active Occupational Therapy license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA only
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA only (certification requirements may vary by unit)
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (refer to unit-specific job descriptions)
Background & Health Requirements
- Background check covering the last 7 years, including all states lived/worked in, required within 90 days of start
- Education verification or copy of diploma/transcripts required
- Physical exam required
- Negative 12-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (including amphetamines, cannabinoids, opiates, fentanyl, cocaine, benzodiazepines, and others)
- TB screening: Negative 2-step PPD or Q-gold within 1 year of start (T-spot tests not accepted)
- Immunizations or titers required for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella
- Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required prior to start (flu season October–May)
Additional Information
- No call required; all shifts scheduled in advance
- Floating between inpatient rehab and acute care units expected
- COVID-19 and flu vaccine exemptions available for medical or religious reasons with proper documentation
- Facility-specific modules must be completed prior to start (approximately 8-10 hours) and are paid hours
- A clear, passport-style photo required for badge issuance
This position offers a structured schedule with guaranteed 40 hours per week and opportunities to work in both inpatient rehab and acute care settings. It is ideal for Occupational Therapists with at least one year of experience seeking a travel contract in Indiana.
