Job Opportunity: Electrophysiology Tech

Location: Escondido, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Schedule: Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, 3 shifts of 12 hours each (3x12s), Days only
Call: No call required


Job Description

  • Experience in Cath Lab / Electrophysiology (EP) required.
  • This is a travel contract position with no local candidates accepted.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of Electrophysiology Technician experience, including experience within the last year.
  • Experience as a Cath Lab Technologist.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • I9 verification.
  • Valid Driver’s License or State ID with current address.
  • Background checks including 7-year criminal history, national criminal, sex offender, and federal exclusion lists within 30 days of start.
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NP confirming good health and free of communicable diseases.
  • Negative 9-panel drug test within 30 days prior to start.
  • TB testing (2-step PPD, Q-Gold, or T-spot) or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually.
  • Immunizations or titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella required or declination accepted.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination required annually.
  • COVID vaccination preferred; if unvaccinated, facility-specific declination required.
  • Badge photo with white background required prior to start.
  • Employment application and skills checklist required.
  • Two professional references within 3 years from a manager, supervisor, or charge RN.

Certifications & Training

  • ACLS certification (AHA only) must be carried at all times.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) recommended.
  • Additional certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (e.g., NIH Stroke Certification for Radiology Interventional).
  • Pass/fail arrhythmia exam prior to start.
  • Online orientation and competency exams required.
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training required only for Psych/Behavioral Health and ER positions (not applicable here).

  • No call responsibilities.
  • This position is a backfill role.
  • Must comply with all facility-specific policies and training requirements.
