Job Summary

As a Nurse Navigator in Pediatric Oncology (Solid Tumor), you will be responsible for patient education, symptom support, and coordination of patient care. Key duties include care coordination, telephone triage/symptom management, patient education, and some hands-on clinical skills such as immunizations, dressing changes, and nasogastric tube placement.

Patient Population & Work Environment

• Clinic serves 75-90 patients daily
• Acute Care Hospital setting
• Charting system: Epic
• Total staffed beds: 30
• Shift options: 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts with guaranteed hours (40 hours for 8/10-hour shifts; 36 hours for 12-hour shifts)
• No weekend requirement
• No on-call duties
• No floating outside scope of practice
• Local candidates accepted without mileage restrictions

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Massachusetts
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 2 years of Nurse Navigator experience, including experience within the last year
• Minimum 2 years of pediatric oncology experience, including pediatric hematology/oncology experience
• Experience working with pediatric patients
• CHEMO certification/experience
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) issued by American Heart Association
• Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) issued by American Heart Association or Red Cross
• Experience with Epic charting system

• Prior travel experience is preferred but not mandatory; first-time travelers will be considered
• No block scheduling accommodations
• Must include interview availability with submission
• Background checks and education verification required
• Multiple facility-specific documents and health screenings required prior to start (e.g., physical exam, TB testing, immunizations including flu vaccine, drug testing)
• Flu vaccine is mandatory for the flu season (October-March) with strict deadlines and no declinations accepted except for approved medical or religious exemptions
• At least 2 positive employment references and verification of 2 most recent employers required
