Oncology Clinic Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Lacey, Washington
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Outpatient Infusion/Oncology RN role
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (7:30 AM - 4:00 PM)
- Shifts may vary; work until last patient is seen (typical start between 7:15-7:45 AM)
- No holidays or weekend shifts required
- Patient population includes oncology patients receiving chemotherapy/immunotherapy, hematology patients, and non-oncology infusions (rheumatology, GI, neurology, pulmonology)
- Approximately 85% hematology/oncology and 15% non-oncology infusions
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 1 year of hematology/oncology experience, with experience within the last year
- Experience in an outpatient setting
- Infusion experience
- IM subcutaneous injection experience
- Therapeutic phlebotomy experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation
- Chemotherapy certification (CHEMO)
- Certification from Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) or Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC)
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security Card (as applicable)
- Background Check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
- Education Verification (nursing degree verification required)
- NURSYS license verification required for all RNs
- Physical Exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating fitness to work
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
- COVID-19 vaccination record preferred (declinations not required)
- Drug Screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant tests acceptable with attestation)
- Respirator Fit Testing (Fit Mask) required for travel candidates, updated annually
- References: Minimum of 2 references covering at least 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
- Employment Application covering at least last 5 years of employment
Training and Competency Requirements
- Annual completion of regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Competency exams and skills checklists updated annually as required
- Epic system training modules completion may be required depending on location

- Float Policy: May be required to float to other nearby facilities within a reasonable distance
