Oncology Clinic Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Lacey, Washington
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Outpatient Infusion/Oncology RN role
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (7:30 AM - 4:00 PM)
• Shifts may vary; work until last patient is seen (typical start between 7:15-7:45 AM)
• No holidays or weekend shifts required
• Patient population includes oncology patients receiving chemotherapy/immunotherapy, hematology patients, and non-oncology infusions (rheumatology, GI, neurology, pulmonology)
• Approximately 85% hematology/oncology and 15% non-oncology infusions

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 1 year of hematology/oncology experience, with experience within the last year
• Experience in an outpatient setting
• Infusion experience
• IM subcutaneous injection experience
• Therapeutic phlebotomy experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation
• Chemotherapy certification (CHEMO)
• Certification from Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) or Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Social Security Card (as applicable)
• Background Check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
• Education Verification (nursing degree verification required)
• NURSYS license verification required for all RNs
• Physical Exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating fitness to work
• Immunizations and health screenings:

  • TDAP vaccine within 10 years (declination accepted)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
  • COVID-19 vaccination record preferred (declinations not required)
• Drug Screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant tests acceptable with attestation)
• Respirator Fit Testing (Fit Mask) required for travel candidates, updated annually
• References: Minimum of 2 references covering at least 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
• Employment Application covering at least last 5 years of employment

Training and Competency Requirements

• Annual completion of regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
• Competency exams and skills checklists updated annually as required
• Epic system training modules completion may be required depending on location

• Float Policy: May be required to float to other nearby facilities within a reasonable distance
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this role
• Radiation badge issued by facility if applicable (FYI only)
