Operating Room Registered Nurse Travel Job – Tucson, Arizona
Position Details
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Day shift, 6:45 AM – 5:15 PM (5 days/week, 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week)
- Call Requirement: 1-2 call shifts per week including nights and weekends; 2 weekend calls every 6-week schedule (dates subject to change)
- Scheduling: No block scheduling requests accepted
- Return to Origin (RTO): Candidates with 7+ days RTO will not be considered
- Surgical Service Lines: Urology, Pediatric Urology, Pediatric General Surgery, Bariatric Surgery, Plastics, ENT, DaVinci Robotic Surgery, some Gynecology
- Proficiency: Must be proficient in main Operating Room surgeries
- Locals: Local candidates will not be accepted
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Current ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Current BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Experience with Epic electronic medical record system
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start, signed by physician, NP, or PA
- Fit Mask Testing: N95 fit test within 1 year of start (PAPR allowed onsite)
- Immunizations:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (full vaccine within 10 years; declinations allowed except for Pediatrics, PICU, Pediatric ER, Mom & Baby, Labor & Delivery units)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (proof of 2 vaccines or positive IgG titer; no declinations)
- Varicella (proof of 2 vaccines or positive IgG titer; no declinations)
- Hepatitis B (proof of 3 vaccines or positive titer; declinations allowed with signed form within past year)
- TB Screening: Negative QuantiFERON Gold, Tspot, or PPD within 3 months of start; if positive, chest x-ray and symptom questionnaire required
- Flu Vaccination: Required during flu season (Oct 1 – Apr 30); medical or religious exemptions require facility-specific forms and approval
Orientation and Testing
- Orientation Dates: Upcoming sessions on May 11 and June 1
- Pass/Fail Testing: EKG and medication assessments required on first day of orientation for certain units; passing score 80%+; remediation and retesting required if failed
- Acknowledgement Forms: Orientation Safety Manual and Pass/Fail Testing acknowledgment required
- Facility-Specific Documents: Job description and orientation sign-off required for all RNs
