Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room (ED) in Clinical Decision Unit (CDU)
• Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per month)
• Call Requirements: None
• Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 5 days off with no more than 2 consecutive days; no time off allowed the day before or after holidays or on weekends
• Floating: Mandatory float within scope of practice as needed
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois (pending licenses not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in the Emergency Department, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) issued by the American Heart Association
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
  • Bystander Intervention Training Certificate

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (driver’s license or state ID)
• Background check within 12 months covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
• Physical exam within 12 months, signed by PA, NP, DO, or MD
• Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) within 1 year, with medical/religious exemptions allowed
• Immunizations and health screenings including:

  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years or signed declination
  • Negative TB test (QGold or TSPOT) within 12 months, updated annually
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
• Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 90 days of start, updated annually
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
• Medication and pharmacology competency exams as required
• Annual skills checklist and competency exams as applicable

Additional Notes

• This is a mandatory float facility; all staff must be willing to float as needed within their scope of practice.
• No prior travel experience is explicitly required for this position.
• Locals are accepted and preferred for this role.
