Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Registered Nurse)

Job Description

Provide high-risk Labor & Delivery nursing care in an acute patient setting.
Responsible for assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care.
Deliver holistic, individualized care considering psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors.
Collaborate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare team members.
No on-call duties; weekend rotation required.
Must have experience with Epic electronic health record system.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in California.
Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
Experience in OB/GYN nursing.
Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program).
- AWHONN Intermediate certification.
Proficient in EKG.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Experience with Epic electronic health record system.

Background and Compliance Requirements

7-year background check required within 6 months of start.
Annual updates for EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and FACIS Level 3 screenings.
Education verification required; BSN preferred.
Sex offender search and other regulatory screenings as mandated.
Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law).
Physical exam within 1 year of start.
Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually.
Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B immunity or declination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30)
Respiratory safety clearance required annually.
References: 2 professional references within 3 years (Aya requirement, not client).
Full 7 years of work history required on application with no gaps.

Competency and Skills Testing

Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
Unit-specific skills checklist, renewed annually.
Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam may be required.
Onsite EKG exam required for ICU RNs (may apply here).

Additional Notes

Candidate must review and sign various facility-specific documents prior to start, including job description, standards of business conduct, code of conduct, and vendor training.
No on-call required, but weekend rotations are mandatory.
This position requires strong communication and collaboration skills in a multidisciplinary team environment.
