Location: Memphis, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) / Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
• Shift: Nights (48 or 36 hours shifts; indicate preference)
• Start Dates: May 4 or May 18
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:7 (team nursing model with support from PCC, RN, etc.)
• On-Call: As needed
• Weekend Requirement: As needed (no weekend block schedule, but weekend block may be considered)
• Locals: Not accepted (strict 100-mile radius rule)
• First-Time Travelers: Not accepted unless 3+ years recent experience
• Travel Experience: Required (prior travel experience mandatory)
• Level I Trauma Experience: Required
• Large Hospital Experience: Required
• Recent Experience: Minimum 2 years recent experience in this specialty required

Required Qualifications

• Valid LPN / LVN license in Tennessee
• Minimum 1 year of Long Term Care experience, including experience within the last year
• Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• IV Certification
• Experience working with Level I Trauma patients
• Medical Surgical nursing experience

Additional Requirements

• Must comply with all background checks including statewide, county, federal, and education verification
• Physical exam within 1 year of start date, attesting ability to meet physical demands
• Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start date (no pending compliance allowed)
• Immunizations and health screenings required:

  • TB test (within 1 year)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) proof of vaccination or positive titer with boosters if needed
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer with boosters if needed
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or positive titer or signed declination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (mask required if exempt)
• Fit test for N-95 mask within 1 year of start date (3M N-95 1860 or 1870+ only)
• Photo for badge meeting strict guidelines (passport-style, no hats, no glasses glare, recent within 6 months)
• Two recent professional references required
• Skills checklist and internal evaluations as applicable

Work Environment

• Level I Trauma Center
• Short Term Acute Care setting
• Team nursing model with support from PCC and RNs
• Strict dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs, specific colors for other disciplines; no prints or embroidered scrubs allowed

This position is ideal for experienced Medical Surgical LPNs with trauma and large hospital experience who have prior travel contract experience and are seeking a night shift travel assignment in Tennessee.
