CT Technologist (Evenings) – Cedar Rapids, IA

Position Type

• Permanent, full-time
• Shift: Evenings (2:00 pm to 12:30 am), 4 days a week (4-10 hour shifts)
• Hours per day: 10

Job Summary

• Perform CT imaging procedures within established technical and safety guidelines
• Administer contrast agents using power injector according to protocols
• Ensure patient identification, history, and exam documentation are accurate
• Support patient care with attention to detail and adherence to radiation safety (ALARA)
• Assist with student clinical and didactic instruction as needed
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and report malfunctions promptly
• Comply with regulatory standards (IDPH, ACR, TJC) and wear radiation monitoring badge

Required Qualifications

• Current permit issued by the Iowa Department of Public Health
• ARRT certification as a Radiographer
• Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking) highly preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Annual completion of CT and Fluoroscopic Safety education
• Clinical experience as a Radiologic Technologist
• Appropriate training for assigned modality
• Experience with computer systems
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work well with patients, coworkers, and other healthcare professionals
• Demonstrated cooperative, courteous, dependable work performance
• High integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality

Responsibilities

• Perform CT exams within specified turnaround times and protocol compliance
• Document all technical procedures and patient information thoroughly
• Use AIDET communication framework with patients and families
• Perform patient transfers using approved mobility equipment when appropriate
• Promote departmental goals and maintain productivity
• Communicate effectively within and across departments
• Support the School of Radiology clinical competency system and student supervision policies
