Job Opportunity: RN Labor and Delivery

Location: Mesquite, Texas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (3 shifts per week, 36 hours guaranteed)
Dress Code: Navy or Royal Blue scrubs

Job Description

Provide nursing care in Labor and Delivery, including mother and baby care.
Experience with postpartum and vaginal examinations is a plus.
Care for COVID-19 patients required.
Charting system used: EPIC.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Texas.
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience, with experience within the last year.
Experience working with Maternal-Fetal patients.
Certifications required before onboarding:
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or Red Cross
- ACLS
- NRP
- AWHONN/Fetal Heart Monitoring certification

Health and Safety Requirements

COVID-19: Two vaccines and booster required or documented declination.
Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:
- MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer)
- Hepatitis B (3 immunizations, immune titer, or declination accepted)
- Influenza vaccine or declination (required Nov 1 – Mar 31)
- Varicella (vaccination or immunity titer)
- Tdap (declinations not accepted in some states)
TB test within one year of start date.
Annual respirator fit test required.

Additional Onboarding Requirements

Drug screening: Minimum 10-panel test including THC, within 60 days of start.
Color-blind test, updated annually.
Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager or direct supervisor.
Agency attestation and other compliance documents as required.

Preferred Experience and Skills

Mother and baby care experience.
Postpartum and vaginal examination experience.
Intermediate fetal monitoring certification preferred.

This position offers a guaranteed 36 hours per week on a night shift schedule, working with a leading electronic charting system in a hospital setting.
