Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical AM Shift

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM


Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Ohio
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Experience working with adult patients
  • Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience
  • Experience managing nursing patient ratios of 1:4-6
  • Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Health and Compliance Requirements (Must be completed prior to or at onboarding)

  • Immunizations and Health Screenings:
    • MMR: Proof of 2 vaccinations or positive IgG titer required; booster doses required if titers are negative or equivocal.
    • Varicella: Proof of 2 vaccinations or positive IgG titer required; booster doses required if titers are negative or equivocal.
    • Hepatitis B: Series of 3 vaccinations, positive titer, or declination accepted; booster or declination accepted if titer negative/equivocal.
    • TB Test: Completed within 60 days prior to start; QuantiFERON/T-Spot or 2-step skin test required; for past positives, chest x-ray within 1 year plus updated TB questionnaire.
    • Influenza Vaccine: Recommended but optional outside flu season; required during flu season with possible exemptions.
  • Fit Test: Annual N95 respirator fit test (3M N95 1860S, 1870+, or PAPR) required for direct patient care; must be completed within one week prior to start.
  • Physical/Health Statement: Must be current within 1 year.

Background and Screening

  • Criminal Background Check: Must be completed within 90 days prior to start; includes 7-year county and national checks, SSN trace, sex offender registry, and federal exclusions.
  • Drug Screen: 9-panel drug screen (excluding marijuana) completed within 60 days prior to start; must be repeated after any break in service.
  • References: Two professional references from a charge nurse or higher within the last 2 years.

Documentation and Onboarding Requirements

  • Driver’s License or State ID: Valid government-issued ID required; address must match profile submission.
  • Education Verification: Highest level of education verified via third party or transcripts.
  • Resume: Required at submission.
  • Badge Photo: Recent (within 6 months) color photo with solid background; no selfies or filters; shoulders up, facing forward, no eyeglasses.
  • Skills Checklist: Current and accurate checklist completed within 12 months prior to start, specific to the position.
  • ECG Exam: Must complete and upload certificate prior to start.
  • Internal Competency Checklist: To be uploaded during onboarding; must be completed within 2 weeks of start or removal from assignment may occur.
  • Annual Compliance Training: Completion certificate required; valid through 11/5/26.
  • I-9 E-Verify: Attestation required.

Optional but Recommended Certifications

  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) for Neuro or Inpatient RNs (optional).
  • Specialty and Pharmacology Exams: Recommended for all RNs; 80% pass rate required if completed.

This position is a 13-week long-term assignment on the Medical/Surgical AM shift, requiring full compliance with health, licensing, and onboarding protocols prior to start.
