Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (Travel)
Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Perform respiratory therapy with minimum supervision after orientation
- Key responsibilities include:
- Mechanical ventilation
- Medicated aerosol delivery
- Airway clearance therapy
- Patient monitoring
- Oxygen and humidity therapy
- Special procedures such as CPR, specialty gases, bronchoscopy, and transport
- Comply with all policies and standards, including maintaining patient Protected Health Information (PHI) confidentiality
Qualifications
- Education:
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy (Required)
- Licensure:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license valid in Ohio (Required)
Physical Demands
- Frequent standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling (up to 50 lbs)
- Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping
- Constant use of feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, and eye/hand/foot coordination
- Occasional climbing, balancing, crawling
Required Certifications and Compliance
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license verification
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) immunity or booster compliance
- Varicella immunity or booster compliance
- Tdap vaccination within the last 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- Influenza vaccine (required during flu season Oct-Mar) or approved exemption with masking
- COVID-19 vaccine preferred but not required
- Fit Test for respiratory protection (completed within 1 year)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or declination form accepted
- 2-Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) test within last 6 months (annual requirement)
- Physical/Health Statement confirming ability to work without restrictions (within 1 year)
- Drug Screen (10-panel, within 60 days of start)
- Annual Negative PPD if applicable
- Other immunizations and health screenings as required
Professional and Background Requirements
- Ohio Fingerprints (BCI&I check) and FCRA-compliant National Database Criminal Background Check
- UHS Criminal Background Check (including Social Security Trace and National Sex Offender) within 6 months
- UHS OIG Search, SAM/EPLS/GSA/OFAC clearance (initial hire only)
- Education and Employment Verification (third-party, no attestations)
- UHS Skills Checklist and Competency Exam (minimum 80% score)
- UHS Core Competencies training (HIPAA, OSHA, Joint Commission topics)
- UHS I-9 Attestation confirming eligibility to work
- UHS Module Completion Certificate (annual safety and compliance training)
- Submission of professional references and employment history as required

- Must comply with all hospital policies and procedures
- Must maintain confidentiality and security of patient information
- Orientation and department-specific training provided upon hire
