Job Opportunity: RN Medical / Surgical / Telemetry
Location: West Burlington, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Deliver nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.
- Collaborate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Provide high-quality care to Geriatric, Medical/Surgical, Adult, and Telemetry patient populations.
- Positions available on Medical Surgical Unit and Telemetry Unit.
- Must self-study telemetry strips upon acceptance; a basic dysrhythmia test will be administered during the first week and must be passed to work on the Telemetry/Med Surg unit.
- ACLS certification required.
- Estimated work week: 36 hours with possible overtime.
Required Certifications and Licenses
- BLS (AHA or ARC acceptable)
- ACLS
- Valid professional nursing license (Primary Source Verification required within 30 days of start)
- Driver’s License or State ID (unexpired government-issued photo ID)
Required Health and Compliance
- COVID-19 Vaccine (declination accepted)
- MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer; 1 booster or declination accepted if low/equivocal)
- Fit Test (completed prior to start; approved mask types specified)
- Hepatitis B (2 vaccines or positive titer; 1 booster or declination accepted if low/equivocal)
- TB Test (negative test within past year or documentation if history of positive test)
- Health Statement (physician statement within last 12 months)
- Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer; 1 booster or declination accepted if low/equivocal)
- Tdap (valid for 10 years; declinations accepted)
- Influenza Vaccine (required annually by 12/01; vaccine or facility declination accepted)
Additional Requirements
- Completion of facility-specific skills checklist within 12 months (does not expire)
- Background check within 30 days of start (includes SS trace, county searches, nationwide, sex offender)
- Iowa Adult and Child Abuse clearance (state requirement)
- Education verification through third party (must verify highest level of education applicable to role)
- Drug screen within 30 days of start (10 panel, THC not required)
- Various professional attestations and verifications within 30 days of start (EPLS/GSA/SAM, SING, NSO, OFAC)
- Completion of OSHA questionnaire and pre-orientation CBL acknowledgement
- Submission of 2 professional references (1 must be from a supervisor)
- Submission of resume/profile
