ER Registered Nurse

Schedule

• 13-week contract
• 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week
• Evening and night shifts
• Heavy evening and overnight coverage
• Every other weekend required
• Holidays required

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• 2+ years of ER experience
• 1+ year of trauma experience
• Prior travel experience required
• ACLS
• BLS
• ENPC
• NIHSS
• PALS
• TNCC
• EPIC experience required
• Must be comfortable providing culturally competent care to a highly diverse patient population
• Must align with the mission of caring for the community like family
• No license hits involving diverting medications or endangerment

Unit Details

• Emergency department with 55 beds, 8–12 swing beds, and 4 trauma bays
• Fast track area available
• Separate triage area
• Separate psych/seclusion rooms
• 24/7 monitor tech support
• In-house security present
• Average of 250 patients per day
• Typical ratios: 4:1 in main ED, 5:1 in fast track, 2:1 in critical care

Clinical Responsibilities

• RN manages holds
• RN may transport critical patients
• RN draws ABGs
• RN sets up small-dose breathing treatments
• RN and MST perform ECGs
• RN and MST draw labs
• Triage may be assigned after additional orientation and competency testing

Orientation

• First day with ED leadership and badging
• 2–3 bedside orientation shifts

Dress Code

• Royal blue scrubs for nursing

• No call or standby requirement
• No floating requirement
