Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) - Georgia

Job Details

• Location: Americus, Georgia
• Contract Length: 17 weeks
• Shift: Nights
• Hours: 12 hours per shift, 36 hours per week
• Unit: Emergency Department (EC)
• Patient Volume: Approximately 70 patients per day
• Bed Configuration: 12 beds total, including 2 trauma bays and 1 seclusion room
• Patient Types: Neonates to geriatrics; minor walk-ins to trauma cases (trauma patients are stabilized and air evacuated)
• Staffing Ratios: Nurse to patient ratio is 1:4
• Charge Nurse: Present, does not take patients
• Support Staff:

  • 1 paramedic per shift (runs clinic, responds to trauma/code)
  • ER techs (at least 1-2 per shift)
  • Nurse externs (nursing students)
  • Security/patient sitters for 1:1 observation on psych holds
• Physicians/Mid-Levels: 1 MD and 2 mid-level providers per shift (staggered)
• Respiratory Therapy: Available 24/7
• IV Team: Available weekdays 8am-5pm for midlines and difficult sticks
• Pharmacy: In-house during the day; after hours support via Omnicell or remote pharmacist until midnight
• EMR System: Meditech
• Orientation: Floor-specific, 3 shifts
• Floating: Not required

Required Certifications

• ACLS (AHA)
• BLS (AHA)
• PALS (AHA)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience
• Must have completed at least 1 prior travel nursing contract

Work Schedule & Requirements

• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holidays: Rotate with permanent staff
• Shift Times: 6:45 am, 6:45 pm, 11:00 am, 3:00 pm (night shift focus)
• Strict 75-mile radius travel restriction applies
