Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Location

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Schedule

  • Monday through Friday
  • Day shift
  • 8 hours per day
  • 40 hours per week
  • No weekends, evenings, or call

Required Qualifications

  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) by NMTCB, or registered technologist (RT) and certified in nuclear medicine (NM) by ARRT
  • Maine State Radiologic Technologist license for Nuclear Medicine

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider

Role Summary

  • Performs nuclear medicine imaging and therapy
  • Reviews patient history and physician orders
  • Educates patients about procedures and equipment
  • Prepares, administers, stores, and disposes of radiopharmaceuticals and medications according to protocol
  • Monitors patient condition and responds to changes as needed
  • Prepares equipment and supplies, selects imaging parameters, and performs quality control
  • Troubleshoots equipment issues and performs imaging procedures
  • Analyzes image quality and takes corrective action when needed
  • Enters, transmits, and reports scan results
