6S/7S - Med Surg - Oncology RN

Location

• Fargo, North Dakota

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Schedule

• Day/Night rotate
• 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend
• Every other holiday

Unit / Department

• 6S: 16 inpatient oncology beds
• 7S: 12 inpatient oncology beds focused more on hematology/bone marrow transplant
• 7S is in process of remodeling 12 more beds

Required Qualifications

• 2 years of recent nursing experience in a large hospital setting with 250+ beds
• Experience in a busy level 1 trauma center
• Active BLS (AHA)
• Active ND or Compact RN license, or willing to get one
• EPIC experience

Preferred

• Travel experience
• Inpatient oncology experience
• Hematology experience
• Bone marrow transplant experience

Floating

• Floats to all med surg units/locations within Fargo as needed
• May also float to other Med Surg units at Med Center or South

Clinical Focus

• Medically complex hematology/oncology patients
• Blood products
• Antibiotics
• Symptom and side effect management
• Head-to-toe assessments
• Medication administration
• Communication with the interdisciplinary team and patient/family updates
• May be assigned chemotherapy administration if trained

Orientation

• 8 hours of classroom training
• 24-36 hours of unit training

Additional Notes

• Cannot take travelers living within 60 miles of the facility
• Local travel rate applies to those living 60 to 80 miles from the facility
• Must note if the clinician has ever worked for Sanford Health; if previously worked there, the end date must be 6 months prior to submission
• Clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
• Navy blue scrubs required
