Shift

12-hour day shifts
36 hours per week
Every other weekend

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in California
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
CVICU experience within the last year
2 years of CVICU experience
BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
PALS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Unit Details

30-bed Cardiac ICU
Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:1 to 1:2
Charge nurse does not take a patient assignment
No nurse aides
Vents are used on the unit
Hospitalist is in house 24/7
Respiratory therapy is available 24/7
Pharmacy is available 24/7
Floating may be required to telemetry or med-surg units

Additional Information

One day of unit orientation
Navy scrubs
Proctored dysrhythmia test on day one for telemetry, labor and delivery, emergency, and critical care nurses; pass/fail

Great hospital. Kind and friendly staff.

Cons

The cafeteria is a hit and miss. Some days they have great sea food with saffron rice! Some days microwaved food :D. But there is alwaaaaays, pizza available ;)
