Registered Nurse – Cardiac Cath
Location: Cheyenne, Wyoming
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days (Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours (4 shifts of 10 hours each)
Orientation: One week unit-specific orientation after onboarding
Call Requirements:
- 3 weeknights per month (5 PM – 7 AM)
- 1 weekend per month (Friday–Sunday)
- Call rotation on a 4-person team with 20-minute response time
- Travelers expected to participate in call rotation
Job Description
- Work in a Level 2 Trauma medium-sized hospital Cath Lab with a steady case load (3–4 cases per day)
- Circulate and monitor during procedures; preference for nurses with experience scrubbing in the EP lab sterile field
- Procedures include ablations (Atrial Fibrillation, flutter, VT), device implants (ICD pacemaker, Bi-V ICD, Watchman), and EP studies
- Use of Epic EMR and specialized equipment such as MacLab/Cardiolab and Biosense Webster mapping system
- Cath Lab team includes paramedics, EMTs, and radiologic techs
- Education sessions on Fridays are mandatory for travelers
- No floating to IR; may float within Cath Lab to assist with circulating and monitoring
- Scrubs and dress code provided
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse license
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Cardiac Cath with no gaps
- ACLS and BLS certifications required (AHA certifications accepted)
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Prefer candidates with prior travel experience and at least 1 year of scrub experience in the EP lab sterile environment
Additional Information
- Permanent address must be at least 25 miles from the facility location
- Cath Lab has 1 suite/lab
- Cardiologists are in lab during the day and on half call after hours; off days spent in clinic
- Call team consists of 4 members; travelers expected to take call
- Call response time is 20 minutes
- EP specialist available on Mondays and Thursdays; interventionalist also performs some procedures
