• 5th Floor
• 37 beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:4/5 on days and 1:5/6 on nights

Required qualifications

• RN
• BLS
• Acute Care Nursing

Patient population

• Stroke, Spine, Neuro Trauma, and general med surg patients

Clinical expectations

• RN is not required to titrate drips
• RN must be competent in reading telemetry strips
• Moderate oxygen needs

Schedule

• Nights, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Self-scheduling and block scheduling
• Full- and part-time employees are expected to self-schedule a minimum of six weekend shifts per six-week schedule
• Holidays required
• Call or standby is determined by the nurse manager

Floating

• Floating is determined by the nurse manager and department needs
• May float to ICU, PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele
• In an extreme need, may float within Zone 3: OCH, LUH, SAH, SAN

Orientation

• Clinicians must be in state for the week of orientation
• Date and location are assigned during the week of orientation

Dress code

• Navy blue scrubs

• Candidate interview process includes an interview with the clinical team
• No unit manager involvement in the interview process
• Driver’s license must be submitted
• Radius: 60 miles
• Charge nurse does not take an assignment
• Nurse aides ratio: 1:12
